MARSHFIELD — Residents will have a chance to clean out their homes and support a local cause during the city’s first communitywide garage sale next month.

The Marshfield Community Garage Sale is scheduled for May 15-16, running from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Organizers say the event aims to bring the community together while raising support for Soup or Socks, a nonprofit that distributes essential goods to those in need.

Participants who want to host a sale must register in person at the MACCI Building by noon on May 1. Registration costs $10, payable by cash or check. A portion of the fee will go to Soup or Socks, with the remainder helping fund future community events.

In addition to shopping, residents will be encouraged to donate nonperishable food and cleaning supplies. Donation totes will be placed at select locations throughout the city during the event. Items collected will be distributed by Soup or Socks, with surplus supplies shared with other nonprofits.

Organizers plan to release a map showing participating garage sale locations and donation sites once registration closes. The map will be available online and in print.

Event updates and additional details will be posted on the Marshfield Community Garage Sale Facebook page.

Organizers said they hope the inaugural event becomes an annual tradition that supports both community engagement and charitable efforts.
