MARSHFIELD — A dozen roses can brighten someone’s day while helping support local scholarships, youth programs and community projects through Marshfield Rotary’s annual rose sale. Orders are being accepted through Saturday, Oct. 24, for a dozen roses priced at $20, including delivery. Rotary members will hand-deliver the flowers Wednesday, Nov. 18. Delivery is available in Marshfield, Spencer, Stratford, Hewitt, Auburndale, Pittsville, Chili and Granton. Those interested in delivery to other nearby communities are encouraged to ask about availability. The sale offers an opportunity to recognize a family member, friend, employee, client, teacher, veteran, first responder or health care worker. Organizers also encourage residents to consider surprising someone at a nursing home or assisted living facility, or simply giving roses as a random act of kindness. Proceeds support Marshfield Rotary’s work locally and internationally. In the Marshfield area, rose sale dollars help fund scholarships for students, Rotary Winter Wonderland and youth leadership opportunities through Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, known as RYLA. The fundraiser also supports grants and hands-on community projects, including partnerships with local nonprofit organizations and funding for equipment and programs that address community needs. Beyond the Marshfield area, Rotary supports international initiatives such as Rotary Youth Exchange, which gives students opportunities to experience other cultures while local communities welcome students from abroad. Rotary also participates in the worldwide effort to eradicate polio. The rose sale gives residents a way to share a thoughtful gift while contributing to those service efforts. Orders may be placed online at rotarymarshfield.com using the rose sale order form, or through any Marshfield Rotary member.
