MARSHFIELD — Immanuel Lutheran School will celebrate the grand opening of its new playground with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 4:30 p.m. at the school, 604 S. Chestnut Ave. The project began with fundraising a little more than a year ago to replace the school’s 17-year-old playground. Generous donations helped make a complete renovation possible, including new playground equipment, new blacktop and a secured fence system. With the playground unavailable throughout the summer, children found creative ways to play while waiting for construction to be completed. They are now looking forward to using the new space. Immanuel expressed gratitude for the donors and local contractors whose support and work helped make the project a success. Denise Sonnemann, executive director of the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry, will provide the welcome and serve as master of ceremonies. The program also includes MACCI Board President Brian Kettner and representatives of Immanuel Lutheran Church & School, followed by the ribbon cutting. The community is invited to attend.
